Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo or Apple Cider Vinegar Rise for Healthy Long Curly Hair

Many people with curly, kinky, and textured hair often wonder, ‘Is Apple Cider Vinegar good for your hair?’ or ‘Is Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo good for your hair?’. And the answer is, yes!

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is a beneficial ingredient in your curly hair regimen. The main benefit of ACV is that ACV helps control your scalp’s PH which allows for your hair cuticle to close and lay flat. Your cuticle closing and lying flat allows your hair to be shiny, minimize frizz, and be soft. It aids in your hair not being dry, breaking, and tangling. Not convinced to use this yet? Check out the other benefits below!

Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

  1. Helps to prevent bacterial and fungal growth
  2. Exfoliates and clarifies your scalp
  3. Aids in curl definition
  4. Stimulates hair growth
  5. Helps with controlling dandruff and hair loss

One of the main concerns I get all the time when I recommend ACV be added to a hair regimen is the smell. We all know the smell of ACV is not the best but after you rinse your hair you can’t smell it AT ALL especially since the solution is significantly dilute. Also, if you are using an ACV shampoo you won’t smell it either! Now that we got that out the way, let’s discuss the various ways to incorporate ACV into your natural hair regiment today!

There are many ways to incorporate ACV into your regimen rinses, applying to your scalp only or even a shampoo that contains ACV. Since most of us with curly hair are trying to shorten our wash day the easiest are either using an ACV rinse or using a shampoo that contains ACV. Although you can use ACV as either as a rinse or use an apple cider vinegar shampoo it is not recommended to mix apple cider vinegar with shampoo. The reason why you should not mix ACV with shampoo is because a shampoo is formulated a specific way and the reaction between the ingredients in the shampoo and the ACV may not be the best for your curly tresses.

The first method is to use a shampoo that already has ACV incorporated into it. This is an easy way to eliminate the step of doing a rinse but still getting all the benefits. (And we all know, eliminating steps in our wash day is ideal!) Some of these shampoos incorporate ingredients such as tea tree oil with apple cider vinegar which can also make your wash day easier and help with any scalp issues. These scalp issues can include dandruff, fungal infections, and product build-up. You may be wondering, where can I buy apple cider vinegar shampoos and the answer is, there are so many options!
